AMU in the top 1,000 of World's Best Universities

The results of the Shanghai Ranking 2021 have been published. 10 universities from Poland have been listed in the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities, including Adam Mickiewicz Unversity.

 

The podium of the ranking invariably includes: Harvard University, Stanford University and Cambridge University.

Among Polish universities, the leading places are occupied by: Jagiellonian University (401-500), Warsaw University (401-500) and AGH University of Science and Technology (701-800)

Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań is ranked between 901 and 1000 best universities in the world. In comparison to last year, AMU recorded an increase in the indicator evaluating the activity per employee (per capita performance), which is a sum of points scored in all the indicators divided by the number of employees. The university performed slightly worse in the criterion evaluating the quality of conducted research – publications in Nature and Science and works indexed in Science Citation Index-Expanded and Social Science Citation Index of Web of Science – UAM scored 0.3 points lower.

The Shanghai ranking evaluates universities using data on Nobel Prize and Fields Medal winners, the most highly cited papers (www.highlycited.com), articles published in Nature and Science, and data from the Science Citation Index-Expanded and Social Science Citation Index databases (Clarivate Analytics).
