Dr Radosław Mrówczyński from NanoBioMedical Centre of Adama Mickiewicz University in Poznań became the winner of the 7th edition of LIDER program organized by the National Centre for Research and Development
35 young Polish innovators who create pioneering technologies were selected in the Program. The researchers will receive grants totaling nearly 40 million PLN so that they can plan and create a research program and to assemble a team of specialists to realize their assumptions. The selected researchers can be distinguished by the fact that they conduct research with great implementation potential.
Dr Radoslaw Mrówczyński deals with the synthesis and properties of new hybrid magnetic nanoparticles and the evaluation of their use as multi-drug carriers in combination therapy.
The aim of the project led by Dr. Mrówczyński is to: obtain the highest quality multi-nanocarriers with the best characteristics of encapsulation and drug release cytostatic evaluation of their use in nuclear magnetic resonance imaging and to define photothermal properties of nanocomposites and their use in combination chemotherapy and phototherapy of primary liver cancer in order to obtain a synergistic therapeutic effect. Nanomaterials are designed to allow for more efficient elimination of tumors, and to improve the quality of life of patients by reducing the side effects of conventional chemotherapy.
National Centre for Research and Development has announced the eighth edition of LIDER, of which budget will be 40 million PLN. The call for proposals will run from January 16th to March 17th 2017.
