Collegium Polonicum and the Polish-German Research Institute


This joint Polish-German campus is located on the Polish-German border, 90 km east of Berlin and provides learning and research opportunities together with the partner Viadrina University in Frankfurt/Oder (EUV) on the German side of the River Oder.  Both riverbanks are joined by a walkable bridge starting from Collegium Polonicum (CP) you can be in downtown Frankfurt/Oder in less than 15 minutes.

On campus you will find comfortable dorms, the European New School of Digital Studies and an international crowd of students.  As the Collegium Polonicum is a cross-border, academic institution which was jointly brought into being and is being maintained by the European University Viadrina and the Adam Mickiewicz University it is an ideal place to study cooperation patterns of neighboring nations and neighborly relationship.  The River Odra (German: Oder, Latin: Viadrina) creates a local phenomenon of a border and borderland which is fascinating to discover.

AMU Collegium Polonicum campus provides students with opportunities to study various degree programs at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Students are able to take full-time and part-time courses in the field of Humanities. Many programs are either joint Polish-German courses or focus on Polish-German issues in a European context and their graduates receive a Polish, German or a joint diploma.

EUV and CP students are eligible to apply for accommodation in the student Residence Halls in Słubice. The Campus consists of five halls: Iuventa, Gaudium, Arcadia, Sapientia and Forum, with over 1000 places in single and double rooms.    Residence Halls provide comfortable accommodation and provide spaces cultural networking and socializing opportunities (the popular Hoff-a shared inner backyard where the students hang out, play sports and socialize. In addition, the Campus promotes attitudes of tolerance, understanding and curiosity about other cultures.

The Collegium Polonicum offers excellent facilities for holding congresses, symposia, conventions and seminars for small and large groups. It is the most modern conference venue in the Polish cross-border region. The rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual and computer devices, as well as facilities for simultaneous interpretation. It is also possible to hold international video conferences on campus.
